Enter Sandwoman is a collection of stories set in the multiverse featuring an angsty Ukrainian-American mother and writer. It is a speculative exploration of the life of a perpetually dissatisfied woman and her brooding experimental scientist father who attempts to help her deal with physical and existential ailments with tragic and hilarious results. 

After Russia attacks Ukraine, Yulia develops a crisis of self and becomes confused and disoriented about her own identity. As she begins to unravel, she finds herself stuck in a black box; she wants to ditch her body after a pregnancy loss and becomes a floating orb, much to the chagrin of her husband; she travels back in time to try “reparenting” but ends up bullying her child self. Eventually, she comes to terms with not coming to terms with the vagaries of time, loss, and the dangers of high expectations. These stories explore dread about the future and a longing for the past, and how they play out during one woman’s complicated journey as a mother, artist, and former resident of a war-torn nation.
